I am an avid gamer and a passionate developer with a drive to make compelling, engaging and fun experiences. From creating game systems,

designing and balancing game mechanics, polish user experience, level design and visuals; always keeping a flexible and open mindset to improve both the game experience and myself as a designer.

I am always willing to learn more and expand my knowledge as a designer while working together with many different people, share ideas and communicate efficiently in order to deliver a great experience to the player!

eXPERIENCE & rOLES

Level Design & pROTOTYPING

Another important part of the game design is the Level Design. As such, I have experience designing the base layout of a level from strategy games to adventure and rhythm games. Each one highlighting the gameplay mechanics, art and user experience to bring the best of every aspect on it.

From there, I am also able to prototype iterations of a level design in engine to test gameplay mechanics, pacing, interactions and balance in order to polish the design to achieve the best experience for the player.

Game Design

This, being my main role across most projects I have had, encompasses the expertise to efficiently communicate with the team, brainstorm ideas develop the core gameplay, mechanics, systems, combat, abilities, rules and how will the characters interact with the many elements of the gameplay. All this, followed by properly documenting all the information in Game Design Documents, Spec docs, Wireframes, diagrams, etc. That will better help the team understand such ideas for their proper implementation

UI/UX

User experience is really important in games and a crucial part of a good game design. I have also experience in this regard by iterating with the art team and designing efficient concepts and wireframes that manage to achieve a simple to understand, yet visually appealing user interface that helps the players understand the different gameplay elements, resources and navigation, all while matching the visual style of the game for a seamless integration.

Gameplay balance, testing & Prototyping

Additionally, I also have some experience in programming and prototyping game systems as needed, ranging from level mechanics, character skills, interactions, visuals, UI etc. Through Unreal Engine Blueprints or visual scripting in Unity.

My design Path

  • Idea

    Everything starts with an idea. I am able to describe the details of a mechanic or gameplay system to further clarify it and its function within the game, as well as its rules, pacing and limitations. All this, along with additional visual and key references in order to ease the next step, implementation, for the team after the idea is validated.

  • Implementation

    Once the idea is fully detailed, its time to implement it in the game to see it in action within all other aspects of the game's world and how it interacts with it and the players. This, firstly, is achieved through prototyping the core of the mechanic in a controlled environment in order to fully experiment with it for different possible use cases.

  • Iteration

    Finally, as we start expanding upon the implemented mechanic, we will enter the last step: Iteration. The aim here is to polish the experience and feel of the mechanic through testing, balancing and debugging. A well as refine the impact and visual style of it with animations, vfx, sfx and more.
